Many households now have multiple computers, but they aren't all linked together properly.
We can set up home networks so that all of the computers can share a single printer, internet connection and files etc.
This also allows Video Games Consoles to use the internet connection for online gaming.
This is done with a router which acts as the root of the network connecting the machines together.
The computers can be connected to the router with a network cable, or more commonly, if a wireless router is used, they can be connected wirelessly. This is what most people prefer, as it cuts out the need for cables.
